Installing Exchange 2007 into an Exchange 2003 Organization

Hi!, After a few days back with a post that I will gradually improving: How to install Exchange 2007 in a Exchange 2003 organization?
The following procedure is simple, we only have the following considerations:
  • Exchange Operation mode: Native (no Exchange Server 5.5).
  • A server with Windows Server 2003 with SP1 or SP2 on 64-bit platform for the installation of MS Exchange 2007.
  • A server controller domain configured as Global Catalog (Global Catalog) on \u200b\u200bWindows Server 2003 SP1 in the domain where you install the first Exchange 2007 server.
  • domain functional level: Windows 2000 Native or Windows 2003. Installing
  • ASP and IIS components exception of SMTP and NNTP. Installation
  • . NET Framework 2.0 or higher and an update. NET Framework 2.0.
  • Installing Microsoft Windows PowerShell and install the Microsoft Management Console 3.0
  • The Exchange server must have Internet to check out the requirements for Exchange 2007.

Steps:

    verified
  1. the domain functional level is: 2000 native or higher.
  2. installed an Exchange server with all the requirements mentioned in: http://exchangepro.blogspot.com/2007/12/instalacin-de-un-servidor-exchange-2007.html
  3. the operational level of the organization Exchange must be native, or rather there should be no Exchange 5.5 servers.
  4. We entered the average
  5. Exchange Server 2007 and proceed with the installation. Installing it in this post only three roles: Mailbox Server, Client Access and Hub Transport.
  6. Then select the Exchange 2003 or Exchange Server 2000 that allow mail routing between Exchange Server Exchange Server 2007 and 2000/2003.
  7. then be verified that the Exchange organization meets all requirements for the installation of Exchange Server 2007.
  8. installation is carried out Exchange Server 2007.
  9. After you have successfully installed Exchange Server 2007 can make use of the great benefits of Exchange Server 2007 !!!!!!! Now the mailbox move is easy, the process is very similar to moving mailboxes in Exchange Server 2000/2003.
  10. We entered the Exchange Management Console, select the option to Recipient Configuration, Mailbox. You'll see a list of users who have their mailboxes in Exchange Server 2003/2000. Right click on one of them and select Move Mailbox.
  11. continue the wizard and select the account to be moved jumping errors and the process is running now.
  12. Select the Exchange Server 2007, Storage Group and database where to store the moved mailbox.
  13. Finally the process completes successfully.
  14. Now we can access OWA Exchange Server 2007 with the migrated account, the OWA is truly an Outlook 2007 client.

Note: Public Folders or Public Folders can be used from Exchange Server 2007 SP1.

Exporting a mailbox using ExMerge Installing Active

Hello, today to learn how to export a mailbox from our Exchange server to a PST 5.5/2000/2003. This time we use the Exmerge.exe utility which can be downloaded from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=429163ec-dcdf-47dc-96da-1c12d67327d5&displaylang=en

Steps: Run
  1. Exmerge.exe downloaded file, selecting a place to decompress. For the dependence of the files. Dll files Exmerge.exe exmerge.ini and should be moved to:% Drive where you installed Exchange% \\ Programs and Files \\ Exchsrvr \\ bin \\.
  2. We entered the Exchange System Manager, and look for the Mailbox Store that contains the user's mailbox (Mailbox to export). I do click Properties and go to the Security tab. As we see the default Administrators group, Domain Admins and Administrators of the company have two denials by which you can not read a mailbox: Receive As and Send as. Note: It is possible to assign Full Control permissions to another user on the Mailbox Store for the collection of mailboxes. On this occasion we do with the domain administrator account.
  3. Then, click on Advanced and uncheck the check from Allow inheritable permissioned fromt I parent to propagate to this object and all child objects. This check will allow us to modify the inherited permissions.

  4. When uncheck the check, charged a security window, allowing us to select what to do with the inherited permissions on this mailbox store. We will select Copy the inherited permissions.
  5. Now we can modify the permissions on the Mailbox Store. We allow the following permissions: Receive As and Send As groups: Administrators, Domain Admins and the Enterprise Admins

  6. After checking that the groups have full permissions on the Mailbox Store where the mailbox to export can continue by restarting the following services: Microsoft Exchange System Attendant and IIS Admin, restart both services dependent services. These optional services can be restarted, otherwise you can wait 15 minutes to permit changes to be made.

  7. Execute utility
    Exmerge.exe

  8. Welcome window will load.

  9. will select the type of procedure: Extract or Import (Two steps procedure). With this option you can import or export mailboxes

  10. In the next window select: Step 1: Extract data from an Exchange Server Mailbox. This option will remove data from a mailbox on the Exchange server.

  11. Select the Server where the mailbox and optionally extract the domain controller.

  12. can be accessed Exmerge options. These allow you to define which data to extract, extract that folder and to extract messages by searching for dates, subjects and attachment names ..

  13. then charged users with a mailbox on the Exchange server and their accounts are suitable for export.

  14. select the language of the mailbox folder accessed, in this case English.

  15. After giving a path to the pst storage, the process starts and delays depending on the amount of item and the size of the mailbox.

Removing a mailbox is a simple task. Through this task we can set individual mailbox backups. Additionally

Exmerge has other features like import pst to a mailbox, mailbox migration between servers, etc.

In Exchange 2007 SP1, to export a mailbox you can use the Export-Mailbox cmdlet. More information: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998579.aspx

If you have problems using Exmerge can visit the Troubleshooting page: http://technet.microsoft.com / en-us/library/bb124178.aspx

Where Can I Find Nembutal

Directory in Windows Server 2008 RC1

Hello! Today we will learn to promote a Domain Controller in Windows Server 2008 Directory Service or Active on Windows Server 2008.
First I have to mention that the Windows Server 2008, currently in a trial version and will soon be released to the market. The procedure discussed below is to create a new forest on Windows Server 2008.
Steps to Install Active Directory:
  1. We must configure the TCP / IP, in this case I disabled the TCP / IP version 6 and additionally I have set the same DNS server and client.
  2. Run the dcpromo command and hope that the binaries are configured to promote a Domain Controller.
  3. window loads
  4. Welcome to promote a Domain Controller. The check for the advanced mode installation offers advanced settings for the domain controller promotion. On this occasion not mark the check.
  5. Upload a warning message informing of the new features of the domain controllers on Windows Server 2008 as security.
  6. select, Create a new domain in a new forest. This option will create a new domain.
  7. write the FQDN for your domain. In this case it exchangepro.local. After accepting the domain name will review the DNS and NetBIOS name to verify that there name conflicts.
  8. A continiaciĆ³n select the forest functional level. In this case take advantage of Windows Server 2008 functional level. More information about functional levels, including Windows Server 2008 you can visit: http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/4e703a77-d9ba-4a26-b756-eba5499f15581033.mspx?mfr=true Then select
  9. verify that the domain controller running Windows Server 2008 DNS service for name resolution. By default the first domain controller is the Global Catalog. As the first promoted domain controller can not be Read-Only Domain Controller. Details of the Read-Only Domain Controller can visit: http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/ce82863f-9303-444f-9bb3-ecaf649bd3dd1033.mspx?mfr=true accept
  10. warning message. This message explains that it is necessary to delegate the primary zone if they are required to resolve DNS names from outside the domain exchangepro.local, in our case it is necessary to delegate because the DNS only resolve local names and the Internet but from internal network.
  11. Next, enter a password for the Active Directory Restore Mode Directory Services Restore Mode.
  12. A summary appears with a summary of what is selected for installation of AD DS.
  13. controller will start promoting Windows Server 2008. This process is carried out for several minutes.
  14. When we restart the process is completed the new domain controller.
  15. Now we enter our domain controller to our domain admin.
  16. can access the administration console Active Directory service. From Server Manager or by going to Administrative Tools.

is a process very similar to the promotion of a domain controller on Windows Server 2003. Anyway I hope your doubts.

Greetings!
